Milton Mead and Martha Leonora Marsh Groo:  Milton was born January 28, 1873 in Salt Lake City to Isaac and Almira Mead Gillett Groo.  He was half-brother to Horace James Gillett (q.v.) Martha was born December 11, 1875 in Alpine to Albert and Sarah C Okey Marsh.  She was a sister to Albert E. Marsh (q.v.).  They were married December 6, 1899 and had six children:  Myrtle Almira, Jay Mead, Lynn Melvin, Milton Marsh, Leonora Sarah and Earl Albert.  He was a power station operator.  It is not known where they lived in Highland or in what time period but likely he lived at the power station at the mouth of the canyon.  Myrtle Groo is listed as a Sunday School teacher in 1895 and1896.

In the 1940 census he was widowed and living in American Fork with his son-in-law and daughter, Albert and Myrtle Pulley, whose children were Albert, Keith and Wendell. (ed. I went to school with Wendell).  In the 1880 census the family was living in Salt Lake City and included:  Almira Gillett, 43, Mary Gillett, 26, Granville Gillett, 26, Frederic Gillett, 17, Milton M Groo, 6 stepson, Myrtle M Groo, 4 stepdaughter and Anna A Gillett, 1.  Milton’s sister Myrtle married L C Holman in Highland on April 20, 1899.

Martha died May 6, 1911 in Alpine and Milton died March 16, 1943 in Salt Lake City.  They are buried in the Alpine Cemetery.
