James Lisle and Lilly Fern Miller Kirk:  Lisle was born August 8, 1892 in Lindon, Utah Territory to Samuel Hynd and Lydia Ann Mayhew Kirk.  Fern was born August 11, 1894 in Lehi, Utah Territory, to Martin George and Emily Lovina Williams Miller (q.v.).  When she was about seven years old the family moved to Magrath, Alberta, Canada, where they lived until 1910 when they moved back to Winder Ward in Salt Lake County.  In 1918 they moved to Highland (#76 on the 1958 Highland map) and Fern did house work for neighbors and worked as a Practical Nurse at the American Fork Hospital.

Fern and Lisle met in 1923 and were married March 19, 1924 in the Salt Lake Temple.  They had two children: Kendall Lisle, who lived only a few days, and Melba Fern, known as Sammie.  They lived in various places: Milford, Utah, American Falls, Idaho, Saratoga, Utah, Highland, Utah (#12 on the 1958 Highland map), Valair, Montana and Orem, Utah, then in 1944 purchased a home in American Fork where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Lisle worked at Geneva Steel and Fern raised raspberries.  She spent her life in hard work and service to others, helping Lisle with the farm work, as needed.  She died September 27, 1973 in Provo.  Lisle preceded her on May 3, 1964 in American Fork.  They are buried in the American Fork City Cemetery.
