Ivester
Oscar Thomas & Alda Vera Talbot Ivester
I remember this family living here for a year or two, but could find nothing about them until the 1950 census became available. Oscar was born September 29, 1915, in Arcadia, Missouri to Charles and Flavia Ivester. He married Mabel Rose Peck in Blaine, Idaho on October 14, 1937 and they had one child, Sharron, and soon divorced. Mabel was born March 4, 1917 in Thatcher, Idaho to Sydney C and Adelin Butterfield Peck. After their divorce she married Elias O, Landvetter April 2, 1944. She died in November, 1984.
Oscar married Alda Vera Talbot February 14, 1943 in Evanston, Wyoming and they moved to Highland before 1950, living in Number 9 (on the 1958 Highland map). Vera was born November 20, 1922 in Moreland, Idaho to Hyrum Roy and Vera Cecilia Partridge Talbot. They had no children while living here but two boys were born to them later: Charles Roy and Thomas J.
In the 1940 census and when he registered for the draft, Oscar was living in Pocatello, Idaho, working for Kraft Cheese. When they left Highland they moved to Salt Lake City and later to Sandy where Oscar died August 15, 1993, and Vera died September 16, 2012. They are buried at Wasatch Lawn in Salt Lake City.
