A letter is sent to the property owner identifying the violation and requesting compliance within an appropriate timeframe (typically 14 to 60 days depending on the violation).
The site is re-inspected for compliance.
If the violation has been corrected, the case is closed and a thank you letter is mailed to the property owner.
If the violation has not been corrected, a notice of violation is issued and a final inspection is performed.
If the violation is still not corrected, a citation is issued and the case is given to the City Prosecutor for prosecution.
