Carlson
Francis Oscar Wilhelm & Sigrid Rosa Cedelia Soderberg Carlson
The Carlsons came to Highland in 1922, apparently from Tooele, Utah, where they were living in 1918, when Francis registered for the WWI draft and in 1920 at the time of the census. He worked for the American Smelter in Tooele.
Francis was born January 4, 1883, in Uppsala, Sweden, to Anders Peter and Josefina Albertina Thelin Carlson. Sigrid was born December 10, 1884, in Goteberg, Sweden, to Nils Oscar Wilhelm and Emma Karolina Erikson Soderberg. They married April 14, 1910, and had seven children: Frances Cecelia, twins Margaret Elvira and Angelia May, twins Vivian Bernice and Vera Louise, Marian Jane and Hampton William. The youngest was born in 1922, but strangely there were no Church records for any of the children.
In 1930 they were living in Murray and later moved to Salt Lake City. Francis died January 12, 1962, and Sigrid May 24, 1974, both in Salt Lake and they are buried in the Salt Lake City cemetery. [Find a Grave]
