George Collis & Eliza Ann Loughton Munns
George and Ann moved to Highland shortly after 1880 and took an active part in the community and Church. George was a teacher in the Sunday School in 1897 and 1898. Their homestead was the 160 acres north of John Heber Preece and west of Peter Beck.
George was born October 27, 1853, in Orewell, England to James and Elizabeth Collis Munns. Ann was born March 6, 1854, in Shingay, Cambridgeshire, England to William and Mary Ann Matthews Loughton. They were married December 27, 1883, in Utah.
George was the first constable of Highland, appointed in 1893, and the first branch clerk when the branch was organized in 1892. He wrote a History of Highland for which we are greatly indebted to him.
The Munns family appeared on the 1900 census living in Lehi and in 1920 was living in Springville. Ann died May 25, 1922, in Springville and George died December 16, 1942, in Lehi and they are buried in the Lehi City Cemetery.
