2023 NOTICE OF
MUNICIPAL ELECTION
(UCA 10-3-301)
MUNICIPAL OFFICES OPEN FOR ELECTION:
Three (3) City Council seats. Each seat is for a 4-year term, January 2024 – December 31, 2027.
CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD:
Any resident interested in becoming a candidate for office must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person at the Highland City Recorder’s Office located at 5400 W Civic Center Drive, Thursday – Friday, June 1 – 2, 2023 and Monday - Wednesday, June 5 - 7, 2023 between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and pay a $35 filing fee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify as a candidate, you must be a registered voter, a resident of Highland for 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election, and in accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, treason, or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored.
IMPORTANT DATES:
June 1-7 Candidate Filing Period
August 15 Primary Election (if needed)
November 7 General Election
VOTER REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
In order to become registered, you must:
- be a citizen of the United States
- have resided in Utah at least 30 days immediately before the next election
- be at least 18 years old on or before the next election

CANDIDATE WITHDRAWAL

This notice hereby states that Timothy A. Ball has withdrawn from the 2023 Highland City Municipal Election for the office of City Council.
Any votes cast for Timothy A. Ball will not be counted.
Individuals desiring to run as a write-in candidate shall declare their candidacy with the City Recorder no later than Monday, September 18, 2023 by 5:00 pm.
