Firework and campfire season is upon us. The City wants everyone to have a fun and safe summer. Please exercise caution and make sure to follow all federal, state, and local laws.
Fireworks can be lit July 1 – 7, July 21 – 27, December 31, and Chinese New Year’s Eve.
Because of excess fire danger, City Council recently voted to ban fireworks in the following subdivisions and areas of Highland: Beacon Hills Subdivision, Bull River Subdivision and drainage areas, Chamberry Fields Subdivision, Country French Subdivision, Dry Creek Highland Subdivision and drainage areas, Hidden Oaks Subdivision, Highland Glen Park, Highland Hills Subdivision, Highland Hollow and drainage areas, Highland Oaks, Hunter Ridge Subdivision, Mercer Hollow Subdivision, Mouth of Am. Fork Canyon, Skye Estates, Sterling Pointe, Sunset Mountain Properties, View Point Subdivision, and Westfield Cove Subdivision. See the

City Council also voted to ban any open fires in the City except for those that are in landscaped yards in a private residence with a hose or fire extinguisher nearby.
The Utah State Forester has banned fireworks and open fires except in improved campgrounds, picnic areas, or home sites where running water is present. This applies to all unincorporated private and state lands in Utah county. Visit
