The Highland City Council has recently taken measures to formally adopt an Ordinance on outdoor watering. This ordinance sets forth days and times that watering can occur and also establishes a penalty for those that are in violation.
The Highland City Council has recently taken measures to formally adopt an Ordinance governing outdoor watering. This ordinance sets forth days and times that watering can occur and also establishes a penalty for those that are in violation.
The new Ordinance is meant to not only help us conserve water, but also to help with the functionality of the PI system city-wide.
WATERING SCHEDULE:
Even Numbered Street Address: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Odd Numbered Street Address: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
No Sunday Residential Watering, allowing the storage facilities to fill.
Recommended watering hours from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Penalties for those found in violation of the above watering schedule:
1st Violation: Highland City will issue a written warning via a door hanger and deliver a copy of the ordinance by mail.
2nd Violation: A $100 fine will be included on the next month utility bill
3rd Violation: Water service will be locked off and a $200 fee will be required to remove the lock and reinstate service.
Subsequent Violations will be subject to Section 13.30.380 of the Highland City Municipal Code.
